Children’s Ministry

  1. Sunday School 4 year olds / Kindergarten  is a Bible teaching time on Sunday at 9:30 a.m., with different hands on activities and music for teaching Bible stories.  Lorraine Vaughan, Sunday School Teacher
  2. Sunday School for kids is a Bible teaching time provided for children from 1st through 6th grade on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.  It allows children to learn and retain Bible stories and concepts through a variety of learning styles and activities.  Bible verse memorization and Bible reading are instilled into the children as life-long skills.  Application activities are given to each child to apply God’s word to their everyday lives.    Jake Ivie, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Orpha Jass,Sunday School Teacher 
  3. AWANA CLUBS (Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed)  for children and teens pre-k through high school, is a Bible centered children’s/youth ministry, equipping children and youth with God’s word and training them to serve Him.  They meet on Sundays at 4:00 p.m.  Activities include: scripture memorization, games, theme nights, and snacks.  Uniforms may be purchased and various patches earned by the children, through book work.  Children are awarded Awana bucks and allowed to spend them twice a year in the Awana store.  Awana Club runs from September to May and then takes a break for the summer.  Vickie Engle, Awana Commander
  4. Worship Rally Team for children 4yrs of age to 6th grade,   usually meets in the Spring or Summer before Vacation Bible School starts.  They schedule meetings to learn the words and motions to VBS songs and are the worship team for VBS.  The Worship Rally team provides the opportunity for children to see their talents to minister to others.  MJ Robles, Worship Rally Leader
  5. Vacation Bible School happens once a year here at First Baptist Church.  We have classes for children from pre-k through 6th grade.  VBS usually takes place in either the months of June or July.  Activities include:  Bible Stories, Bible learning activities, crafts, recreation, mission stories, worship, and snacks.  The week concludes with a parent commencement.   Lucas Martinez, VBS Director
